Two siblings from Birmingham tragically lost their lives <\/a>at sea while on a family holiday in Spain, their aunt has confirmed.<\/p>\n Ameiya, 13, and her 11 year old brother, Ricardo Junior, from Erdington, sadly drowned <\/a>during a family trip to Salou. Emergency services were summoned to Llarga beach, near Tarragona, just after 8.45pm on 29 July, according to Catalonia’s Civil Protection agency.<\/p>\n The “beautiful” and “bright” siblings received treatment following the tragic <\/a>incident at sea but unfortunately did not survive.<\/p>\n Their aunt, Kayla Jasvinder Del-Brocco, confirmed that her niece and nephew tragically got into difficulty in the water and were swept away from the beach by strong currents, reports Birmingham Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n “They went out to swim <\/a>together with their dad as they loved the beach,” Kayla said. “Mum said ‘don’t be long’ and took her little one to the bathroom.<\/p>\n Join the <\/strong>Daily Record’s WhatsApp community here<\/strong><\/a> and get the latest news sent straight to your messages.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n “She came back out and couldn’t see anyone. That’s when the nightmare <\/a>commenced.” Kayla described Ameiya as “athletic, driven, motherly with her siblings, sarcastic and unique”.<\/p>\n “Ricardo Junior was kind, loving and helpful,” she added. “He wanted to be a YouTuber and would do anything for a few quid. He doted on his mum.”<\/p>\n Holly stated: “During what was meant to be a joyful family holiday in Salou, Spain, Ameiya and Ricardo Junior, lovingly known to their family and friends as Maya and Jubs, heartbreakingly lost their lives <\/a>in a tragic incident at sea.<\/p>\n “Two beautiful, bright, and deeply loved children, taken far too soon. The pain their family is feeling is unimaginable. This fundraiser has been created to help ease some of the financial burden the family is now facing, covering the costs of bringing Maya and Jubs home to the UK and giving them the dignified farewell they deserve.<\/p>\n “We know that no amount of money can make this right.
