Birmingham beat Wrexham to the League One title last season, but it is the Welsh club who have splashed the cash ahead of the new season with six summer signings and Wales striker Nathan Broadhead reportedly set to join the Red Dragons in a club-record \u00a37.5million transfer from Ipswich.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got to (keep spending),\u201d NFL quarterback great and Birmingham shareholder Brady told The Sports Agents podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got to keep up with one another. Wrexham have, I\u2019d say, done an incredible job. I mean, you can\u2019t be anything but excited about what they\u2019ve done for that club\u2026 I\u2019m so impressed by Wrexham.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat they do on the pitch, off the pitch, and again, they\u2019re in a great position to succeed as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about the rivalry in a fixture that has been dubbed the \u2018Hollywood Derby\u2019, Brady said: \u201cWe\u2019re going to talk a lot of smack in the meantime between all of us, because it\u2019s pretty fun theatre, and I think there\u2019s some little friendly side bets going on.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut make no mistake, the people who are going to decide the fate of those games are the players wearing those jerseys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brady made 10 Super Bowl appearances and had seven victories \u2013 both individual records \u2013 in a storied 23-year NFL career between 2000 and 2022.<\/p>\n

The 47-year-old admits he would love to bring the Super Bowl to Birmingham once the club\u2019s new 62,000-seater stadium is built in Bordesley Green.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThat would be pretty amazing. I don\u2019t make all those decisions. I\u2019m not sure how much I can influence those decisions.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think that my partner, Tom Wagner (Birmingham chairman), is an incredible man, incredible businessman.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has huge ambitions for the club, and I would never bet against anything that he tries to accomplish.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former Celtic and Tottenham coach Chris Davies steered Birmingham to League One glory with a record 111 points from 46 games.<\/p>\n

\"BirminghamBirmingham have bounced back after Wayne Rooney\u2019s short-lived 15-game reign and relegation to then third tier in 2023-24 (Bradley Collyer\/PA)<\/p>\n

The previous season Birmingham were relegated to the third tier for the first time in 29 years, with former England captain Wayne Rooney having been sacked in January after just 15 matches in charge.<\/p>\n

Brady said: \u201cI think that\u2019s a very natural part of a growth process, that you are going to face adversities along the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I look back at those years, I\u2019m very proud of what we accomplished because of what we overcame.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever happened two years ago or a year ago makes really no impact on where we\u2019re at now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this club has a great manager. The expectations and standards have been set at a different level, and we\u2019re going into this Championship season with great excitement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to restore it (Birmingham) to the glory that it\u2019s been in the past. To move up and to be promoted to the Premier League is a very daunting task, but it can be achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brady also revealed he is taking inspiration from the job \u201cgood friend\u201d David Beckham has done with his Major League Soccer side Inter Miami.<\/p>\n

The pair watched Birmingham\u2019s 3-1 win over Wrexham together last year at St Andrew\u2019s @ Knighthead Park.<\/p>\n

Brady told the Men In Blazers Media Network: \u201cDavid\u2019s been a good friend of mine too, for a long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd obviously, watching his career, he comes over to MLS, has great success here for the (LA) Galaxy. And how he transitioned into sports ownership is pretty amazing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis club here, Inter Miami, has done great things.
