Harry Redknapp was the victim of a burglary as masked robbers broke into his mansion with hammers and stole his wife\u2019s jewellery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former Premier League manager and his wife, Sandra, were out when the gang broke down the front door of their \u00a35million Dorset home.<\/p>\n

With Redknapp<\/a>\u2018s home for sale, one theory is that the burglars noted its details on property website Rightmove.<\/p>\n

It is claimed in a report by The Sun that the robbers were familiar with the layout of the pile<\/a>, located near Dorset beach resort Sandbanks \u2013 where property is among the most expensive in the world per square foot.<\/p>\n

A source told The Sun: \u201cIt was clearly organised.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe raiders must have known the house was empty.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is understood the gang helped themselves to jewellery belonging to Redknapp\u2019s wife, as well as other luxury items.<\/p>\n

The burglary took place last Friday night, with the couple both away from the property when it was broken into.<\/p>\n

An attempted robbery earlier this year close to Redknapp\u2019s home has led to theories that information available online could have helped prompted the break-in.<\/p>\n

In May, burglars attempted to break into the\u00a0nearby home of TV interior designer Celia Sawyer, which was also understood to be on sale and advertised on Rightmove.<\/p>\n

A source said: \u201cThe criminals would only have to keep watch on the property and break in once the coast was clear, knowing the full layout of the house in advance.\u201d<\/p>\n

CCTV caught the masked robbers using heavy hammers to break down the front door of Redknapp\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

The source added: \u201cThey used lump hammers and a sledgehammer to smash the front door open.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were caught on CCTV \u00adcameras breaking in and trying to ransack the property looking for valuables.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was clearly organised and they must have known the house was empty at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the traumatic event, Redknapp was keen to move on from it, having been at a function when the robbery took place<\/p>\n

A spokesman for\u00a0the former Tottenham<\/a> and West Ham boss told The Sun: \u201cHarry doesn\u2019t want to make a fuss.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no one in the house at the time and we don\u2019t want to comment on what was taken.<\/p>\n

The search for the culprits is ongoing, with officers confirming last night that they were still looking for them.<\/p>\n

Redknapp and his wife placed the property on sale, as they prepare to move into their new waterside villa at Sandbanks.<\/p>\n
