\n Beyond economics, there\u2019s also ego:<\/strong> Chinese leader Xi Jinping is balancing a fragile domestic economy, yet can\u2019t risk any appearance of caving in to Trump and American demands.\n <\/p>\n

\n And Trump is notoriously mercurial \u2013 just look at how he threatened Canada yesterday<\/a> as soon as Ottawa announced plans to recognize a Palestinian state.\n <\/p>\n
