A man has been found dismembered in his cellar – with his mother and girlfriend reportedly confessing to the killing.<\/p>\n

The remains of Alessandro Venier were found in Gemona del Friuli, northeastern Italy<\/a><\/strong>, on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Sky’s Italian news service, TG24<\/a><\/strong>, says it’s understood from sources close to the case that the women have already claimed responsibility.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old was drugged before the killing, according to La Repubblica, and his body was put in a bin and covered with quicklime to hide the smell.<\/p>\n

TG24 says police went to the property at about 10.30am after being called by one of suspects.<\/p>\n

It’s believed the victim was killed several days ago.<\/p>\n

Mr Venier has a baby daughter with his partner, a 30-year-old Colombian woman, and his mother is a well-known former hospital nurse, reported Corriere Della Sera.<\/p>\n

Neighbours described them as a quiet family.<\/p>\n

Gemona del Friuli mayor Roberto Revelant, writing on Facebook, called it “terrifying news that has shocked the city”.<\/p>\n

He told TG24 that it is a “serious, heart-breaking event” that means his six-month-old daughter will need to rebuild her life.<\/p>\n

“All of Gemona is rallying around her. We are taking care of her, through social services, with the utmost care, to ensure her safety and a dignified future,” he added.<\/p>\n
