{"id":308975,"date":"2025-08-01T10:16:17","date_gmt":"2025-08-01T10:16:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/308975\/"},"modified":"2025-08-01T10:16:17","modified_gmt":"2025-08-01T10:16:17","slug":"police-charge-suspect-after-lee-baker-hit-by-car-and-killed-in-birmingham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/308975\/","title":{"rendered":"Police charge suspect after Lee Baker hit by car and killed in Birmingham"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"subtitle\">A man has been charged after Lee Baker was hit by a car and killed in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>Author: Molly HookingsPublished 40 minutes ago<\/p>\n<p>Police have charged a suspect after a man was hit by a car and killed in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>Lee Baker, 28, was struck on Ormscliffe Road in Rednal shortly after 5pm on Monday 21 July and later died in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>A 28-year-old was arrested yesterday and has since been charged with murder, perverting the course of justice, and theft of a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>He will appear at magistrates&#8217; court today.<\/p>\n<p>Det Insp Michelle Cordell, who is leading the investigation, said: \u201cThis is a significant step forward in our investigation, but it\u2019s still vital that people with information come forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know a number of people were in the area at the time, and I\u2019d urge them to do the right thing for Lee\u2019s family and come forward and tell us what they know.
