{"id":309006,"date":"2025-08-01T10:32:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-01T10:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/309006\/"},"modified":"2025-08-01T10:32:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-01T10:32:09","slug":"second-arson-attack-on-rail-line-in-two-days-dw-08-01-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/309006\/","title":{"rendered":"Second arson attack on rail line in two days \u2013 DW \u2013 08\/01\/2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>German police said on Friday that a key railway line in the western city of <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/d\u00fcsseldorf\/t-39413755\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">D\u00fcsseldorf<\/a> had been hit by a second arson attack in two days, <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/germany-updates-sabotage-suspected-in-major-rail-disruption\/live-73477096\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hours after a fire in a cable duct caused widespread disruptions<\/a> on the same stretch.<\/p>\n<p>Police told the German DPA news agency that the incendiary device used was of the same type as the one discovered following Thursday&#8217;s blaze,\u00a0which shut down a major line between\u00a0D\u00fcsseldorf and the nearby city of Duisburg, adding that damage has once again been caused to the line.<\/p>\n<p>German rail operator <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/deutsche-bahn\/t-19021273\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deutsche Bahn<\/a> spoke of &#8220;vandalism&#8221; and warned of train diversions and delays.
