The 160-kilometer race ended with an electrifying breakaway from yesterday’s winner Maeva Squiban, who attacked up and over the final climb after sitting in the 17-woman breakaway all day. Squiban’s attack continued down the nearly 20-kilometer descent as she came screaming in for a second stage in a row. Behind her, Cedrine Kerbaol, American Ruth Edwards, and Shirin van Anrooij came in second through fourth.<\/p>\n

Right behind them, the GC contenders had regrouped on the long descent into the finish, navigating the technical town as they battled for seconds in the general classification. Kim LeCourt maintained her GC lead after an impressive descent, leaving the rider in the yellow for yet another day as the race heads into the final two stages in the mountains.<\/p>\n
