(KVOA) &#8211; The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is implementing new measures in the ongoing battle against the opioid crisis.<\/p>\n<p>This week, the FDA announced significant changes to warning labels on prescription painkillers.\u00a0Opioid medications will now feature stronger safety labels to better convey the risks associated with long-term use.<\/p>\n<p>The revised labels will also eliminate language that might suggest indefinite use is acceptable.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, they will include new warnings about dose-related risks, withdrawal, and overdose-reversal drugs such as naloxone.<\/p>\n<p>These changes aim to enhance patient safety and awareness concerning opioid prescriptions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"WASHINGTON, D.C.
