The BBC<\/a> is reportedly set to launch an investigation into presenter Naga Munchetty<\/a> following a series of complaints. The 50-year-old Breakfast<\/a> host has allegedly been placed \u201cunder review\u201d while bosses consider taking things further with a formal investigation.<\/p>\n

Now, a source has claimed that bosses had heard from several aggrieved colleagues, sharing concerns over her \u201chard\u201d and \u201cbullying\u201d behaviour\u201d on BBC<\/a> Breakfast and her Radio 5 Live show. She had also been pulled aside by bosses over allegations that she made an off-air sex jibe while working at 5 Live. The source told The Sun<\/a>: \u201cFollowing the amount of people who have come forward to share their experiences with Naga, the BBC<\/a> has officially moved to place the complaints under review. The review is to ascertain whether a full-on investigation is required and that could come in weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

A BBC<\/a> spokesperson told Express.co.uk: \u201cWhile we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously and will not tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have robust processes in place that would encourage any staff with concerns to raise them directly with us so they can be addressed.\u201d Express has reached out Naga Munchetty<\/a>‘s representatives for a comment.<\/p>\n

It comes after the publication reported that the broadcaster faced complaints on 5 Live including a bullying claim and the use of crude, sexual language.<\/p>\n

The Sun<\/a> claims bosses were forced to issue an apology on her behalf following a tense interview with Spice Girl Geri Horner back in 2023. It is understood that her reported misconduct came to light after a probe into the award-winning show\u2019s director, Richard Frediani.<\/p>\n

He has returned to work after the investigation into his behaviour, including a claim that he \u201cphysically shook\u201d a female worker. A second \u201clistening\u201d review by HR has encouraged staff to come forward with any grievances about Frediani, Munchetty and her BBC<\/a> co-host Charlie Stayt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But many believe that Frediani being allowed to return to work is a sign that bosses are ready to move on from the allegations. A source told the publication: \u201cThe revelations about Naga have thrown a new twist on the scandal. Some find her passionate advocate of people behind the scenes, while others find her as difficult as Fredi.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis explosive mix has led to a deluge of revelations from both sides, creating a huge headache for the BBC<\/a> as it scrambles to mop up the mess. It\u2019s everyone for themselves like the Hunger Games.\u201d<\/p>\n

Munchetty started working on BBC<\/a> Breakfast back in 2014 and covers the morning show from Thursday to Saturday alongside veteran broadcaster Stayt, as well as hosting a Radio 5 programme three times a week.
