A man has been jailed in connection with the death of a pensioner following a horror crash<\/a> in Ayrshire.<\/p>\n

Blair Jardine<\/a>, 31, pled guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving at the High Court in Edinburgh today, Friday, August 1.<\/p>\n

An HGV driven by Jardine collided with an MG car<\/a> on the A70 at Ochiltree in East Ayrshire at around 1:30pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.<\/p>\n

An 88-year-old woman, who was a passenger <\/a>in the car, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but sadly died six days later on Monday, June 10.<\/p>\n

The driver of the car, a 59-year-old woman, was also rushed to hospital with serious injuries. <\/a>Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: \u201cThis was a completely avoidable crash<\/a> that had devastating consequences for the family and loved ones of both women.
