Two roads were closed off after a man was slashed in the neck<\/a>. A huge police scene was in place at Drake Road and Drake Crescent in Fazakerley<\/a> this evening.<\/p>\n A Merseyside Police<\/a> inspector told the ECHO<\/a> that police received a call at 5.47pm this evening that a 42 year-old man had been assaulted on Drake Road. The man had injuries consistent with a slash wound and was taken to hospital.<\/p>\n One male suspect was seen driving a dark coloured Ford Focus. He made off from the scene. As of 9.30pm this evening, no arrests have been made.<\/p>\n Police closed off Drake Road and part of Drake Crescent while enquiries took place. Officers had left the scene by 8.30pm. The force incident manager said any witnesses should come forward to the police.<\/p>\n When the ECHO visited the quiet residential streets at 8.30pm, a small piece of police tape had been left on the pavement. One man living on Drake Road said: \u201cThe police shut off all of the road at about 6pm.<\/p>\n “We didn\u2019t see anything but a police officer told us there had been a stabbing.\u201d<\/p>\n A woman living on Drake Crescent said: \u201cThe police were here about two hours ago and I was told I couldn\u2019t leave my house. I have no idea what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n Another woman on Drake Crescent said: \u201cThere were loads of police here. This was two hours ago. I don\u2019t know why.<\/p>\n “We heard from a neighbour that there had been a stabbing.\u201d<\/p>\n A man on Drake Road added: “The police were here and closed the road off. It was a shock.
