Emergency services were called to a Belfast airport after a \u2018technical issue\u2019 was identified with a landing plane. <\/p>\n
The PSNI, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service all attended the scene at the east Belfast airport after an emergency was declared on board the Emerald Airlines aircraft.<\/p>\n
The plane has since successfully landed and taxied to the stand.<\/p>\n
The airline also confirmed no passengers were onboard the aircraft. <\/p>\n

In a statement, a spokesperson for Emerald Airlines said: \u201cEmerald Airlines positioning flight EA701P, with no passengers on board, flying from Edinburgh to Belfast City Airport, 18th April 2025, landed and proceeded to its parking stand as normal.<\/p>\n
“Due to a technical issue subsequently identified onboard, emergency services were informed as a precautionary measure.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: \u201cWe had five appliances plus our specialist rescue team and command vehicles who attended, but the plane landed safely.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur fire crew carried out an external check using thermal imaging cameras. We used a thermal imaging camera around the plane, there was no issue.<\/p>\n
“No action was taken by Fire and Rescue Service personnel.
