{"id":310404,"date":"2025-08-01T22:48:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-01T22:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/310404\/"},"modified":"2025-08-01T22:48:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-01T22:48:16","slug":"swimming-droitwichs-matt-richards-wins-relay-gold-for-great-britain-at-world-aquatics-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/310404\/","title":{"rendered":"SWIMMING &#8211; Droitwich&#8217;s Matt Richards wins relay gold for Great Britain at World Aquatics Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t\tMATT Richards helped Great Britain win relay gold at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.<br \/>\nThe Droitwich swimmer swam the first leg of the 4x200m freestyle final as Team GB won their first gold medal at the World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>The quartet of Richards, James Guy, Jack McMillan and Duncan Scott crossed the line in a time of six minutes 59.84 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Team GB finished just over a second clear of China who took silver while Australia claimed bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Britain reclaimed the world title they last won in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Richards just missed out on a medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay earlier at the World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>He swam the second leg in the final as Britian finished fourth behind Australia, Italy and United States of America.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old also finished eighth in the 100m freestyle final and just missed out on a place in the 200m freestyle final.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; MATT Richards helped Great Britain win relay gold at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.
