Chelsea and Manchester United receive a boost to their hopes of signing Gianluigi Donnarumma as Paris Saint-Germain reportedly inform the goalkeeper of a decision that could affect his future.<\/p>\n

Paris Saint-Germain<\/strong><\/a> have reportedly informed Gianluigi Donnarumma<\/strong><\/a> of the imminent arrival of\u00a0Lucas Chevalier<\/strong><\/a> from Lille, boosting Chelsea<\/strong><\/a> and Manchester United<\/strong><\/a>‘s hopes of signing the Italian this summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Donnarumma helped PSG win the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France and Champions League during a memorable 2024-25 campaign.<\/p>\n

The Italy international recorded 17 shutouts in 47 appearances across all competitions in PSG’s treble-winning season.<\/p>\n

Despite playing an important role in that success, Donnarumma faces an uncertain future at the Parc des Princes due to his contract situation.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his deal, and is yet to reach an agreement with his current employers over a new contract.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Donnarumma receives ruthless PSG decision<\/p>\n

With Donnarumma out of contract next summer, PSG have taken the initiative by delving into the transfer market for a new goalkeeper.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to RMC Sport<\/a>, PSG have informed Donnarumma about the imminent arrival of Chevalier from fellow Ligue 1 side Lille.<\/p>\n

The French champions are believed to be making progress in negotiations with Lille over a\u00a0\u20ac40m (\u00a335m) deal, with Chevalier ready to sign a five-year contract with Luis Enrique<\/strong><\/a>‘s side.\u00a0<\/p>\n

PSG were keen to be transparent with their current first-choice goalkeeper, but Donnarumma is not best pleased by the club’s decision to sign a direct competitor for his position.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chelsea, Man United receive boost in Donnarumma race<\/p>\n

Man United have recently been linked<\/a><\/strong> with a move for Donnarumma, while Chelsea are also believed to be among<\/strong> <\/a>the main contenders for his signature.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two Premier League clubs will surely feel that Chevalier’s arrival will increase the possibility of Donnarumma leaving this summer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former AC Milan shot-stopper could still opt to stay put and compete with Chevalier for the number one spot, but as it stands, Enrique is said to view the Lille goalkeeper as his next number one.<\/p>\n

Chelsea will have one key advantage over Man United if Donnarumma decides to leave this summer, due to the fact that they can offer Champions League football.<\/p>\n

The Blues are seemingly open to recruiting a new number one to take over from their current first-choice goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for Man United, they could use the transfer market to replace Andre Onana<\/strong><\/a>, who has drawn scrutiny for some of his performances since joining the club from Inter Milan in 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Manchester City have also been mentioned as potential suitors, despite recently re-signing James Trafford<\/strong><\/a> from Burnley.\u00a0<\/p>\n
