Pyreegue is back with another major UK airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and this time it\u2019s Birmingham<\/strong>. The developer\u00a0brings one of the UK\u2019s busiest regional airports to both MSFS 2020 and 2024, combining Pyreegue\u2019s trademark visual fidelity with a forward-looking take on the airport\u2019s evolving layout.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s get the essentials out of the way first: the scenery is priced at\u00a0\u20ac19,99<\/strong><\/a>, supports both versions of MSFS, and comes with a full\u00a0GSX profile by Will Hinshaw<\/strong>\u00a0(Hinshee).<\/p>\n

Rather than stick with a static snapshot in time, Pyreegue has opted to model\u00a0Birmingham as it\u2019s expected to look in the near future, featuring the\u00a0Elmdon 2026 layout<\/strong>\u00a0with Taxiway H construction completed, and a\u00a02025 configuration for the South Terminal<\/strong>, including the new terminal extension and updated ground markings. It\u2019s a choice that makes sense given how quickly UK airports are evolving.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re running MSFS 2024, you\u2019ll also get access to a particularly nice feature:\u00a025,000 square meters of explorable terminal interiors<\/strong>, filled with\u00a0animated passengers<\/strong>\u00a0doing their thing: waiting in lounges, walking around, or simply existing as part of the airport\u2019s rhythm. While this obviously doesn\u2019t impact flight performance, it adds life for those who enjoy walking around in avatar mode, especially with the increased focus on first-person immersion in the new sim.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The landside area of BHX hasn\u2019t been overlooked either. Pyreegue has recreated the surrounding infrastructure with a high level of detail, including\u00a0rail lines, bus interchanges, hotels, and the Air-Rail Link<\/strong>\u00a0to Birmingham International Station.<\/p>\n

Night lighting also gets special mention. The lighting is described as\u00a0carefully tuned<\/strong>\u00a0to match the real-world atmosphere of Birmingham after dark, highlighting key architectural elements.<\/p>\n

As with previous Pyreegue airports,\u00a0custom ground service equipment<\/strong>\u00a0is fully integrated. Tugs, baggage carts, GPU units \u2014 all of it has been made to reflect the actual kit used at Birmingham. Combined with the\u00a0GSX profile<\/strong>, which is tailored to match BHX\u2019s layout and operations, this makes for a coherent ground handling experience from pushback to arrival.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s the terrain. Pyreegue has introduced a\u00a0bespoke terrain model<\/strong>, complete with\u00a0realistic slopes, taxiway gradients, and elevation changes<\/strong>, including the solar park hill near Taxiway Bravo. The goal is a closer match to the real-world topography and a smoother experience during taxi and takeoff.<\/p>\n

With this release, Pyreegue adds another major UK hub to their growing portfolio, joining Edinburgh<\/a> and East Midlands<\/a> with the same level of detail and ambition. The forward-looking terminal layouts, animated interiors, and integration with GSX will surely appeal to simmers who enjoy flying popular short-haul routes with Ryanair, Jet2, or TUI.<\/p>\n
