Newcastle have made contact with Axel Disasi recently and the Frenchman is on their recruitment list according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.<\/p>\n

Disasi is one of a number of players the Blues are looking to move on this summer, and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old made ten appearances in all competitions as Unai Emery\u2019s side missed out on Champions League football on the final day of the season.<\/p>\n

Newcastle make contact with Axel Disasi<\/p>\n

Disasi had a good debut season under Mauricio Pochettino having joined in a deal worth around \u00a339m From Monaco in the summer of 2023.<\/p>\n

However, it was evident pretty quickly he wasn\u2019t going to be a major part of the plans under Enzo Maresca, and made just six Premier League appearances over the first half of the season, with three as starts.<\/p>\n

The loan spell at Villa wasn\u2019t the best and it appears they won\u2019t be signing the defender permanently, with it thought Disasi wants to remain in the Premier League.<\/a><\/p>\n

Chelsea are thought to value Disasi at \u20ac35m, and the likes of Villarreal and Juventus have been linked, whilst in the Premier League Newcastle are said to have shown interest.<\/p>\n

It was reported earlier this summer the Magpies were leading the race for Disasi,<\/a> and Tavolieri has provided an update.<\/p>\n

He took to X.com<\/a> and said:<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter resolving the tricky striker situation with Sesko\/Wissa & Alexander Isak, Newcastle United is now planning to sign a central defender! <\/p>\n

Chelsea still trying to sell Veiga<\/p>\n

Disasi isn\u2019t the only defender set to leave Chelsea this summer, with the Blues are also trying to offload Renato Veiga despite only signing him last summer.<\/p>\n

Veiga spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, and Chelsea are said to have set their asking price at \u20ac40m.<\/p>\n

Atletico Madrid were close to finalising a move for Veiga, but they decided he was too expensive and signed David Hancko from Feyenoord instead.<\/p>\n
