EXCLUSIVE: Molly Mae has had a tough few weeks after being trolled for being ‘out of touch’ and now a PR expert has claimed that the Love Island star could be losing her ‘golden girl’ status<\/p>\n

Molly-Mae Hague<\/a> broke down in tears last week after being slammed, yet again, for being \u2018out of touch\u2019 by fans. Now, a pr expert tells OK!<\/a> that they believe the golden girl\u2019s popularity is on the wane and her star power could \u2018all be over\u2019.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 26-year-old, one of Love Island<\/a> \u2019s biggest success stories with an estimated net worth of \u00a36m, had claimed on of her vlogs that she\u2019s done \u2018nothing fun this summer, despite taking several lavish holidays posted on social media. Most recently, she headed off on a family trip in her \u00a386K motorhome, <\/a>after which she confessed she felt \u2018overwhelmed\u2019 and had a \u2018breakdown\u2019, when her daughter Bambi, 2, who she shares with partner Tommy Fury<\/a>, was overtired and screaming for hours.<\/p>\n

While some sympathised with the challenges of travelling with a little one,<\/a> others were quick to criticise Molly-Mae for complaining, pointing out her affluent lifestyle and frequent luxury vacations, labelling the influencer and entrepreneur \u2018tone deaf\u2019.<\/p>\n

Our mole claims that such posts really upset the mum-of-one, and the negativity can bring her down. <\/a>\u201cShe does get upset that she\u2019s constantly in the firing line from the public, but she also doesn\u2019t understand why because she doesn\u2019t feel like she\u2019s done anything wrong. She works hard and is proud of what she\u2019s achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mum-of-one hit headlines recently when she complained in a YouTube<\/a> video that she hadn\u2019t done anything fun over the summer months. \u201cI said to a friend the other day, that I\u2019m going to make it to the end of summer having not done one fun thing,\u201d she said to camera. \u201cI haven\u2019t a life. That\u2019s not good is it. Summer will end and I\u2019ve not done one fun social thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some fans, however, were quick to point out several of Molly\u2019s outings this year; <\/a>including trips to Dubai, a holiday to Disneyland, a city break to Budapest, their recent motorhome holiday to the Isle Of Man and attendance at high profile events such as Wimbledon, before which she spent thousands of pounds at Christian Dior to wear to the tennis tournament.<\/p>\n

Hitting back at the trolling <\/a>she has received in a recent video, Molly claimed that she \u2018doesn\u2019t\u2019 care\u2019 about the backlash, but said it does make her \u2018nervous\u2019 to talk openly with fans. \u201cI don\u2019t care who tells me I am out of touch with reality or all this stuff that\u2019s going on on TikTok at the minute, I don\u2019t care I\u2019m not going to not talk about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I don\u2019t want to talk about anything controversial anymore because in the last video I said some things I probably could have worded better and even with all the motherhood things I\u2019m talking about at the minute, it\u2019s just a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Never one to shy away from her struggles, Molly has admitted to having a tough time with Bambi in recent months.<\/a> She said in one YouTube video, \u201cI\u2019m having one of those toddler mum days, where I question, \u2018am I actually cut out for this?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery single thing I try and ask her to do, she will not listen to me… She hasn\u2019t eaten in like three days because she is refusing to eat. I\u2019m finding it really hard.\u201d Adding that Tommy seems to take parenting more in his stride, Molly admitted that it\u2019s \u2018tough\u2019.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the recent backlash, PR expert Lynn Carratt believes Molly Mae is definitely at risk losing her \u2018golden girl\u2019 status. She tells new: \u201cSome of the things that she\u2019s saying are coming across as out of touch with reality.<\/p>\n

“Molly was the sweet, girl next door on love island, and she had a true love story with Tommy which people really bought into and was very likeable. Men fancied her, girls wanted to be her. She came across as an inspiration. Now, she\u2019s flying all over the world<\/a> on private jets and sadly, it\u2019s just not relatable anymore.”<\/p>\n

Lynn continues: “In the last year or so, it seems like she\u2019s been falling from grace<\/a> – her days at the top of the showbiz pile could be over.”<\/p>\n

“She shouldn\u2019t have to hide her lifestyle or money because she\u2019s earned it, but at the same time, we\u2019re in a cost of living crisis. People don\u2019t always want to see influencers flying across the world in private jets.”<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is really hard for Molly being a working mum, as it is for all working parents. And it is good that she\u2019s being open about her struggles. But she needs to really think about a PR strategy to bring fans back on side.”<\/p>\n

Molly rose to prominence on Love Island in 2019, where she met Tommy Fury<\/a>, also 26, and came second place with the boxer, whose brother is boxing<\/a> star Tyson.<\/p>\n

After the show, she signed a major deal with e-retailer PrettyLittleThing, eventually becoming their creative director while working with brands like Beauty Works and creating her own fake tan business, Filter By Molly Mae. She then parted ways with PrettyLittleThing to build her own fashion brand, Maebe, launched last year.<\/p>\n

Now, she has a hit Amazon Prime docuseries currently filming for season two and resides in a multi-million pound home in Cheshire with her and Tommy\u2019s two-year-old daughter Bambi. The couple, who got engaged in July 2023, <\/a>announced their shock split last summer, before getting back together earlier this year.<\/p>\n
