Josh Brownhill could make the switch to Leeds United from fellow promoted side Burnley this summer after his contract with the Clarets expired.<\/strong><\/p>\n Brownhill<\/a> made his name as one of the best midfielders in the Championship last season and was crucial to getting Burnley promoted.<\/p>\n The Peacocks have been pushing to sign the former Bristol City midfielder<\/a> but have yet to make a breakthrough.<\/p>\n Brownhill has been assessing his options over the summer, and this week officially exited Burnley, but the latest details on his future will confuse the Leeds United<\/a> hierarchy.<\/p>\n Daniel Farke has done well so far this summer to strengthen his defence.<\/p>\n The Peacocks have secured the signatures of Gabriel Gudmundsson<\/a> and Jaka Bijol and have now moved on to adding depth to their midfield.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Leeds added Sean Longstaff<\/a> to their ranks and are keen to make Brownhill their eighth signing of the summer.<\/p>\n Brownhill\u2019s Burnley stats<\/p>\n A move for the midfielder could be in doubt, as he is being offered a frankly shocking \u00a3100,000 a week by MLS side Toronto FC, according to GiveMeSport<\/a> (2 August).<\/p>\n The Whites are reportedly joined by Everton in the race for the 29-year-old, with both sides said to be hopeful of convincing Brownhill to stay in England.<\/p>\n Given the Peacocks\u2019 more limited finances compared to the Toffees, they could look elsewhere for a cheaper alternative.<\/p>\n The Elland Road<\/a> outfit have added Anton Stach as well as Longstaff to their midfield already and are in no rush to make rash decisions in the transfer market.<\/p>\n It wouldn\u2019t be surprising to see Leeds and Everton pull out of a deal for Brownhill if he is indeed being offered a six-figure weekly sum by Toronto FC.<\/p>\n The midfielder will find it difficult to replicate his fine form in the top flight and wouldn\u2019t be worth the risk of having such a high earner wasting away on the substitute bench.<\/p>\n Instead, the Peacocks should prioritise adding to their forward line.<\/p>\n Leeds have only brought in Lukas Nmecha in attack so far, and given Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph\u2019s uncertain futures<\/a>, Farke would benefit from more additions.<\/p>\n From Brownhill\u2019s point of view, though, if a move to Elland Road \u2013 or indeed Everton \u2013 is presented to him, he needs to use his head and prioritise his own career over riches abroad.<\/p>\n![\"Leeds](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/daniel-farke-leeds-1-1024x576.jpg\")
