{"id":312390,"date":"2025-08-02T16:54:17","date_gmt":"2025-08-02T16:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/312390\/"},"modified":"2025-08-02T16:54:17","modified_gmt":"2025-08-02T16:54:17","slug":"ukraine-military-claims-it-struck-major-russian-refinery-electronics-factory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/312390\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine military claims it struck major Russian refinery, electronics factory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ukraine&#8217;s military said Saturday it had struck oil facilities inside Russia,\u00a0including a major refinery, a military airfield for\u00a0drones and an electronics factory.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Telegram, Ukraine&#8217;s Unmanned Systems\u00a0Forces said they had hit the oil refinery in Ryazan, about 180\u00a0kilometres southeast of Moscow, causing a fire on its\u00a0premises.<\/p>\n<p>Also hit, the USF said, was the Annanefteprodukt oil storage\u00a0facility in the Voronezh region that borders on northeastern\u00a0Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The statement did not specify how the facilities were hit,\u00a0but the USF specializes in drone warfare, including long-range\u00a0strikes.<\/p>\n<p>There was no immediate comment from Russia on the reported\u00a0attacks on its infrastructure sites, but the Defence Ministry said\u00a0air defences intercepted or destroyed 112 drones across eight Russian regions and the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"A car is on fire.\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/ukraine-crisis-attack-kyiv.JPG\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4676616915422886\" data-cy=\"image-img\"\/>A car damaged during Russian missile and drone strikes burns in Ukraine on Thursday. (Valentyn Ogirenko\/Reuters)<\/p>\n<p>A drone attack on the Rostov region, on the border with Ukraine, killed one person, said the acting governor, Yuri Slyusar.<\/p>\n<p>Further from the front line, a woman was killed and two other people wounded in a drone strike on business premises in the Penza region, according to regional governor Oleg Melnichenko. In the Samara region, falling drone debris sparked a fire that killed an elderly resident, regional\u00a0 governor\u00a0Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s Defence\u00a0Ministry said in its daily report Saturday that its\u00a0defence units had downed a total of 338 Ukrainian drones\u00a0overnight. Its reports did\u00a0not say how many Ukrainian drones were\u00a0launched at any given time. Ukraine&#8217;s air force said it had downed 45 of\u00a053 Russian drones launched at\u00a0its territory overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of Russian drones launched, Ukraine says<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ukrainian air force, Russia launched 53 drones and decoys at Ukraine overnight into Saturday. It said air defences shot down or jammed 45 drones.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven people were wounded in an overnight drone strike on the Kharkiv region, Gov.
