George Clooney is taking over the Great White Way after making his Broadway debut in Good Night and Good Luck on April 3. The 63-year-old is pursuing his stage dreams in New York City while his wife, Amal Clooney, and their two children, 7-year-old twins Alexander and Ella, are keeping a much lower profile.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to InTouch Weekly, <\/a>\u201cAmal definitely doesn\u2019t need to be in the spotlight\u201d while her husband spends his days doing interviews in hopes of nabbing a Tony Award<\/a> in June. Her career as an international human rights lawyer \u201cis very serious\u201d and she \u201cwould rather the public focus on that.\u201d That\u2019s why no one should buy into the hype that their 10-year marriage is in trouble.<\/p>\n

How the marriage rumors began<\/p>\n

While George\u2019s longtime friends Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford showed up on opening night to support him, Amal was nowhere to be seen. \u201cShe\u2019s with the kids,\u201d George told reporters on the red carpet, per People<\/a>. Amal went to see the show numerous times during previews, so she didn\u2019t need to be in the audience that night \u2014 out of sight didn\u2019t mean out of mind.<\/p>\n

What some fans might have forgotten is that Amal lives a very big life on her own, she doesn\u2019t need to live in George\u2019s shadow. She followed her husband to the Big Apple for the run of the play, but that doesn\u2019t mean her career is on hold.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously they have to work on their relationship like everyone else, but they\u2019ve always had their own separate interests,\u201d the InTouch Weekly source said while pointing out her visiting professor job <\/a>at Oxford University\u2019s Blavatnik School of Government \u201ccould complicate things further\u201d during his run. \u201cBut they\u2019ve had a lot of practice living separate lives while staying committed to their family. It may be puzzling to some, but so far, it\u2019s worked for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

George admitted to The New York Times<\/a> in February that he didn\u2019t think he would ever \u201chave much of a chance with her\u201d before they began dating. He added, \u201cI was 17 years older<\/a>, and she seemed to have everything she needed.\u201d Now, their goal is to take advantage of time because he\u2019s in good health in his 60s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had this conversation with Amal when I turned 60,\u201d George continued. \u201cI said, \u2018Look, I can still play full-court basketball. I can still run around. I can still do pretty much everything I did when I was 30. But in 30 years, I\u2019m 90.\u2019\u201d The dynamic duo\u2019s plan is to \u201cjam in everything [they] can\u201d over the \u201cnext 20, 25 years\u201d and they are doing it together as a family.<\/p>\n
