There was a huge police presence to keep order. Counter protests were led by Stand Up To Racism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/greater-manchester-police\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said officers ensured protestors were able to safely exercise their right to peaceful process, while minimising disruption for the wider public and the transport network in one of the city\u2019s busiest locations.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1754158279_787_0_Britain-First-March-For-Remigration.jpg\" alt=\"Today's march by Britain First in Manchester city centre \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Today&#8217;s march by Britain First in Manchester city centre (Image: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Earlier in the day, two arrests were promptly made during a confrontation at the start of the march to the city centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Chief Superintendent Colette Rose, Gold commander for today&#8217;s police operation said: \u201cToday was expected to be a really busy day in Manchester with plenty of planned protest action from different groups in the middle of the city.
