The biggest party of the summer will be spread across two nights as WWE<\/a> Summerslam takes place this weekend in New Jersey.<\/p>\n

It is the 38th annual edition of WWE Summerslam, marking the eighth WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) to be streamed on Netflix after the Royal Rumble<\/a>, Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania 41, Backlash, Money in the Bank, Night of Champions and Evolution.<\/p>\n

Debuting all the way back August 1988, this event has been transformed over the past three-and-a-half decades. One of the promotion’s five biggest events of the calendar year, Summerslam is widely considered second to only WrestleMania.<\/p>\n

Just like the ‘showcase of the immortals’ this year, for the first-time ever, Summerslam will be a two-night event. Furthermore, rapper Cardi B<\/a> will serve as the event’s hostess.<\/p>\n

An extra night means more matches and some of the biggest names in the company are on the card, including John Cena<\/a> as he defends the Undisputed WWE championship in a street fight against Cody Rhodes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jade Cargill – the 2025 Queen of the Ring – aims to dethrone WWE Women’s champion Tiffany Stratton, while Gunther puts the World Heavyweight championship on the line against CM Punk.<\/p>\n

Naomi’s first defence of the Women’s world championship is a triple threat match against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu will be locked in a steel cage for the WWE United States title.<\/p>\n

AJ Styles finally gets his match with WWE Intercontinental champion Dominik Mysterio and the pressure is on Lyra Valkyria because if she loses to Becky Lynch in a no disqualification, no count-out match, she can no longer challenge for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title as long as Lynch is champion.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere on the card, Roman Reigns<\/a> and Jey Uso face Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a tag team match, Sami Zayn looks to settle a score with Karrion Kross and singer Jelly Roll will make his in-ring debut as he teams with Randy Orton to face Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.<\/p>\n

On the undercard, both tag team titles will be defended. For the women, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez take on the challenge of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. For the men, the titles will be suspended above the ring in a six-pack TLC (tables, ladders, and chairs) match where the champions The Wyatt Sicks are at a massive disadvantage.<\/p>\n

In the UK, WWE Summerslam is scheduled to start at 11pm BST on Saturday August 2, 2025 and Sunday August 3, 2025.<\/p>\n

The Premium Live Event will take place at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.<\/p>\n
