{"id":313087,"date":"2025-08-02T23:18:27","date_gmt":"2025-08-02T23:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/313087\/"},"modified":"2025-08-02T23:18:27","modified_gmt":"2025-08-02T23:18:27","slug":"new-healthcare-centre-in-downham-market-could-be-even-bigger-than-planned-if-new-application-is-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/313087\/","title":{"rendered":"New healthcare centre in Downham Market could be even bigger than planned if new application is approved"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A new healthcare facility and pharmacy could be even bigger than initially envisioned due to \u201csignificant\u201d interest from service providers.<\/p>\n<p>West Norfolk Council granted planning permission for <a href=\"https:\/\/lynnnews.co.uk\/news\/new-healthcare-centre-gets-the-green-light-9400836\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Downham\u2019s Willows Pharmacy to relocate into the old social club on Paradise Road<\/a> in January this year.<\/p>\n<p>The original application said the new healthcare centre was expected to improve access for patients, provide three consulting rooms and an automatic 24-hour medication dispenser, and incorporate the NHS\u2019s \u2018Pharmacy First\u2019 initiative.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 5251 3693\" alt=\"The new healthcare centre, which will be at the old Downham Market Club, has attracted &#x2018;significant&#x2019; interest from service providers\" data-root=\"\/_media\/img\/\" data-path=\"RJVWZNUFG5X5UTGOUJXS.jpg\" data-ar=\"1.42\"\/>The new healthcare centre, which will be at the old Downham Market Club, has attracted \u2018significant\u2019 interest from service providers<\/p>\n<p>Now, a new application has been submitted including a revised design due to a potential need for even more space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the granting of planning permission in January 2025, a significant number of enquiries from other professional medical service providers has been received from a variety of health care practices,\u201d a report from John Stephenson, a Downham-based planning agent acting on behalf of applicant Dr Ardeshir Danesh, says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a direct result, following a considerable amount of negotiation, it has been decided that now is the time and opportunity to expand the extent of healthcare provision, which in turn will require a revised application.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe essence of providing a healthcare centre remains unaltered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new application is asking permission for the main pharmacy building to be extended beyond its current blueprint.<\/p>\n<p>The two buildings flanking this section would be used for \u201cassociated health care\u201d &#8211; including four consultation rooms, reception, and toilet.
