Manchester United are prepared to make a loss on Rasmus Hojlund to ensure that he is sold this summer.<\/p>\n

United want \u00a330million for Hojlund, whose value under the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules is \u00a338.4m.<\/p>\n

Hojlund, 22, joined United from Atalanta for \u00a364m up front in 2023 and he is two years into a five-year contract, meaning he is worth \u00a338.4m under the PSR calculations.<\/p>\n

However, United are conscious that no interested club would meet that valuation and are ready to accept a lower fee for Hojlund to try and sell him. Inter Milan enquired about Hojlund at the start of the summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

United want to sign a new striker and remain in discussions about a possible move for Benjamin Sesko, having considered Liam Delap, Viktor Gyokeres and Ollie Watkins.<\/p>\n

The MEN revealed in May that members of the United hierarchy are unconvinced by Hojlund<\/a> and the club is willing to cut its losses on the Denmark international.<\/p>\n

United head coach Ruben Amorim failed to give assurances that Hojlund would stay<\/a> beyond the closure of the transfer window after he scored two goals in the 4-1 win against Bournemouth on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Hojlund said in midweek he is planning to stay at United<\/a> but the arrival of a new goalscorer could push him out of the club.<\/p>\n

“I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens,” Hojlund said. “I’m still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I’m only 22.<\/p>\n

“Obviously, not every striker is scoring 100 goals at the age of 22 (like Erling Haaland). But I’ve learned a lot, I think you can see in my game. I’m starting to develop and become even better in the basics.<\/p>\n

“Now it’s just about for me to sharpen myself and I’ve done very well in the pre-season so far. Just focusing on continuing that.<\/p>\n

“Competition is fine with me. It sharpens me. I’m more than ready. I’m feeling sharp, so I’m welcoming everything that comes.
