{"id":313557,"date":"2025-08-03T03:49:17","date_gmt":"2025-08-03T03:49:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/313557\/"},"modified":"2025-08-03T03:49:17","modified_gmt":"2025-08-03T03:49:17","slug":"its-time-to-take-childrens-mental-health-seriously","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/313557\/","title":{"rendered":"It\u2019s time to take children\u2019s mental health seriously"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a May ranking of children\u2019s well-being in 36 developed countries, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.japantimes.co.jp\/news\/2025\/05\/14\/japan\/science-health\/child-well-being-survey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Japan came in about halfway, in 14th place<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Though it secured the top spot in physical health and made gains in the skills category \u2014 and rose from 20th place since the 2020 ranking \u2014 the survey conducted by UNICEF revealed Japan\u2019s low performance (32nd) in mental well-being, which hasn\u2019t seen much improvement over recent years.<\/p>\n<p>These findings are corroborated by a grim statistic: Last year, Japan saw a record high of 527 child and teenage suicides.
