\n To date, Norwich City Council has received 48 objections over a bid to turn Cotman House near the Cathedral into a flat.\n<\/p>\n
\n Patients fear the conversion will be the “wrong decision” for the “vital community resource” if planners for the council approve the application.\n<\/p>\n
\n One person said: “Without it, hundreds of children will lose the NHS dental service. I strongly object to this community resource being closed.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Another person added: “If this dentist and his team has to leave just to increase the Airbnb\u00a0or other rental income profits of the owner, it will be a serious and wrong decision.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It will lead to a further reduction in the varied and vibrant services that this fine city can offer.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Other patients are worried the plans will leave “hundreds” of people in the city without dental care as\u00a0Norfolk\u00a0becomes one of the\u00a0worst so-called “dental deserts”\u00a0in the UK.\n<\/p>\n
\n One patient who wrote to the council\u00a0said: “This change of use will deprive some 1,500 Norwich residents of vital healthcare.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It will be impossible for this number of patients to find alternative dental care.\n<\/p>\n
\n “This is an outstanding surgery providing first-rate care to Norwich people and is conveniently located for those without transport.”\n<\/p>\n
