Normal People, the acclaimed Ireland-set drama starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal, is now streaming on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The series<\/a>, based on Sally Rooney’s 2018 novel of the same name, tells the story of Marianne Sheridan (Edgar-Jones) and Connell Waldron (Mescal), charting their relationship through adolescence and the early stages of adulthood.<\/p>\n

Originally released on BBC Three, Hulu and RT\u00c9 One in 2020, Normal People<\/a> has found a new streaming home in the UK, with all 12 instalments of the romantic drama now available to stream on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to its presence on Netflix, the series is also available to stream on Disney+<\/a> in the UK, with the drama being added to that particular streamer earlier this month. If you’d prefer to view it on BBC iPlayer, then all 12 episodes are still on there too!<\/p>\n

Directed by Hettie Macdonald and Academy Award nominee Lenny Abrahamson, Normal People was widely acclaimed upon its release, attaining four nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards and an impressive approval rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. <\/p>\n

In our review<\/a>, we described the “perfectly cast” series as “beautiful”, adding: “It sweeps you up in its arms, capturing the very essence of the book \u2013 that all-encompassing love between Marianne and Connell that transcends the physical.”<\/p>\n

“The 12-episode limited series powerfully captures the angst and intensity of young love as the pair each navigates their respective struggles with friendships, trauma and mental health,” wrote TIME Magazine<\/a>. <\/p>\n

BBC.com<\/a> was also full of praise, writing: “It is just so brilliantly done in every single way: from the way it is formed and shot, to the acting and the chemistry. It feels as if you’re watching a real relationship unfold on screen.” <\/p>\n

“[It’s] extremely faithful to the novel. The big difference is the series’ tone and willingness to live in its feelings… I found it all moving and emotionally wrecking, in the best way,” opined The New York Times<\/a>, while The Globe and Mail<\/a> called it “achingly powerful”.<\/p>\n

While the romantic drama moved both critics and viewers alike, there has been speculation that a follow-up could be made, with both Edgar-Jones and Mescal devilishly teasing fans last year<\/a> that a sequel could come in the future.<\/p>\n

Normal People is streaming now on Netflix, Disney+ and BBC iPlayer.<\/strong><\/p>\n
