The state drug control department seized drugs worth Rs 1.3 crore on Monday night during a raid on an unlicensed godown at Sunder Apartments, near Paschim Vihar. Officials said a large quantity of drugs to treat asthma, Type 2 diabetes, and pain relief were found.<\/p>\n

The raid was conducted following a tip-off from the department\u2019s intelligence cell regarding the sale and storage of drugs at an unlicensed premises. The person present at the location failed to produce a valid licence or purchase records for the stocked drugs, the department said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, these drugs were considered of doubtful quality,\u201d said the official.<\/p>\n

The drug inspectors have collected samples of a few drugs to ascertain their quality and sent them for testing.<\/p>\n

Specimen samples of these drugs have also been collected at random to check their genuineness from their respective original manufacturer.<\/p>\n

An official said the accused admitted that he was operating this business from his residential premises for the past two months, without maintaining any purchase and sale records.<\/p>\n
