A man was stabbed in the back, arm and leg in a park. Merseyside Police were called to Park Road North, near Birkenhead<\/a> Park, at around 10pm on Saturday, August 2.<\/p>\n

It followed a report a 22-year-old had suffered stab wounds to his back, arm and leg and injuries to his face. Detectives said they believe the attack happened near the bowling green caf\u00e9 inside the park.<\/a><\/p>\n

When the ECHO <\/a>attended the scene a small cordon surrounded the building and a one police car and an officer remained before the cordon was taken down shortly after. The man has been taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening, police said.<\/p>\n

Merseyside Police said an investigation is underway and house-to-house, CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the area. Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkinson said: \u201cWe believe the man was close to the bowling green caf\u00e9 when the assault happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe investigation is in the very early stages but we are asking for anyone who was in the area of Park Road North at around 10pm last night who heard or saw anything suspicious to contact us. We are particularly keen to speak to any taxi or delivery drivers who may have captured something on their dashcam to get in touch.\u201d<\/p>\n
