A man was arrested at Manchester Airport early on Sunday morning by murder squad detectives after the death of a teenager who was stabbed in the car park of a football complex.<\/p>\n
The 19 year-old was held at the airport on suspicion of murder at around 4.30am, police said. He remained in police custody on Sunday, together with two other 19 year-old men who were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of murder.<\/p>\n
A murder investigation was launched following the death of a man, also aged 19, who was stabbed multiple times<\/a> in the car park of a football complex.<\/p>\n Police said they believe the teenager, who hasn’t been named, was the victim of a ‘targeted attack’ in Bury<\/a>.<\/p>\n A number of police cordons were in place on Saturday. The car park of the Powerleague football complex in Bury, next to Bury College off Market Street<\/a>, was sealed off.<\/p>\n Crime scene specialists were seen within the complex taking photographs as part of the investigation. Two cars were within the cordon area.<\/p>\n Another police scene was in place on Valley Mill Lane, where residents reported hearing screams, around half a mile away. A forensic tent was put up on the cul-de-sac near to the Roch Valley Greenway.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n In an update on Sunday, police described a ‘violent and tragic incident’.<\/p>\n A spokesperson said: “All three of the arrested suspects are male and aged 19, with the latest being arrested at Manchester Airport<\/a> at 4.30am this morning – Sunday.<\/p>\n “The other two arrests took place in Bury and Bolton<\/a> last night – Saturday.”<\/p>\n Police patrols in the area, meanwhile, have been stepped up. The Powerleague football complex said it was closed on Saturday ‘due to circumstances’.<\/p>\n Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton said: “Even though we have three people in custody this is still a live investigation and that will continue today and into next week.
