Two cousins from Oxfordshire have helped England\u2019s under-22 carp fishing team to claim a bronze medal at the World Championships.<\/p>\n
Max and Aidan Whitehall played a key role in the team\u2019s success at the World Carp Angling Championship, held this year at Lake Pietrafitta in Italy.<\/p>\n
The England team, which also included Blaise Price, Ed Dyer, Fin Newnham, James Floyd, Alfie Rock, and Isaan Patel, finished third overall after a strong team performance.<\/p>\n
The England under-22 carp fishing team (Image: Linear Fisheries) The cousins, who regularly fish at Linear Fisheries Complex, near Witney, were drawn in section A of the lake, which was considered the toughest due to sparse fish stocks and challenging conditions.<\/p>\n
Despite this, they managed to land three fish and secure third place in their section, contributing crucial points to the team\u2019s overall score.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson from Linear Fisheries said: “The collective efforts of the entire team resulted in a well-earned bronze medal finish, highlighting the depth of talent within England\u2019s youth carp scene.<\/p>\n
“Their success is a reflection not only of their angling ability but also the support and guidance of the coaching team and manager.<\/p>\n
