He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressandstar.com\/newsletters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Get the latest headlines delivered straight to your inbox with the Express &amp; Star\u2019s free newsletter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A second man, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf, was taken to the hospital with injuries that could be life-changing.
