The striker was useful as a super-sub and found praise for his unwavering commitment. However, he is a high earner and was therefore at the top of the list to leave.<\/p>\n<p>Although <a href=\"https:\/\/onefootball.com\/en\/team\/ajax-341\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ajax<\/a> preferred to sell Akpom, that wasn\u2019t feasible in the short term. By loaning him out, <a href=\"https:\/\/onefootball.com\/en\/team\/ajax-341\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ajax<\/a> still saves a significant amount on wages. <a href=\"https:\/\/onefootball.com\/en\/team\/birmingham-city-205\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham City<\/a> will also pay a loan fee.
