A number of closures have been announced across Northern Ireland<\/a> for Monday.<\/p>\n A yellow weather<\/a> warning for wind due to Storm Floris will come into place at 6am on Monday, August 4, and will remain in place until 11.59pm on the same day. It covers the entire region.<\/p>\n The Met Office<\/a> said: “Storm Floris is likely to bring a spell of unseasonably strong and potentially disruptive winds to northern UK on Monday.”<\/p>\n READ MORE: Storm Floris LIVE updates as NI closures announced ahead of weather warning<\/a>READ MORE: Track Storm Floris live as yellow weather warning issued for across Northern Ireland<\/a><\/p>\n Here are closures and cancellations announced so far:<\/strong><\/p>\n Mid Ulster District Council closures<\/strong><\/p>\n All Council forest and parks sites will be closed for the duration of the warning.<\/p>\n Sites will remain closed until further notice pending safety inspections after the warning expires.<\/p>\n Sites affected include:<\/p>\n Newry, Mourne and Down District Council<\/strong><\/p>\n The district\u2019s Forest\/Country Parks – Castlewellan, Delamont, Kilbroney, Slieve Gullion, Warrenpoint Municipal Park – and Community Trails will be closed to cars and pedestrians on Monday.<\/p>\n The Council say this is due “to the increased likelihood and risks associated with falling branches and debris”. All associated facilities (Cafes, Caravan Parks, Forest drives, Mountain Bike trails etc) will also be closed.<\/p>\n The public are also advised not to visit the Council’s play parks, outdoor sport facilities and outdoor recreational areas.<\/p>\n A statement added: “Council is advising the public not to visit forests, country parks, community trails, beaches, harbours, nature reserves and coastal sites in vehicles or on foot.<\/p>\n “Please note that there will be some delays in the re-opening of the Parks and Mountain Bike Trails on Tuesday (to facilitate full safety inspections). We will endeavour to reinstate public access as soon as possible.<\/p>\n “Please keep an eye on our social media channels for further updates.”<\/p>\n Tyrone GAA Summer Camps postponed<\/strong><\/p>\n Tyrone GAA said: “With Storm Floris predicted to hit the county on Monday 4th August bringing high winds and rain a decision has been taken by all clubs hosting Club Tyrone Summer Camps this coming week to postpone Monday’s session. The affected clubs are:<\/p>\n “An extra hour will be added to camps on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with camps running from 10am – 2pm. Given coach commitments to GAA For All camps there is no availability to extend camps to Friday.”<\/p>\n Fermanagh and Omagh District Council<\/strong><\/p>\n People are advised not to visit the Council’s outdoor facilities during the period of the weather warning.<\/p>\n The following facilities and open spaces will be closed for public access during the period of the warning:<\/p>\n A statement added: “There may be some delays in the reopening of these sites to enable safety inspections. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. “<\/p>\n Silent Valley<\/strong><\/p>\n NI Water said: “With a Met Office yellow weather warning in place for Storm Floris, Silent Valley Mountain Park will be closed on Monday 4th August 2025.<\/p>\n “The closure comes as the forecast predicts Storm Floris is set to bring ‘unseasonable strong winds’ along with ‘heavy rain’. Northern Ireland set to be one of the worst hit areas, according to the Met Office.<\/p>\n “The decision has been taken in the interest of public safety as some trees at Silent Valley were damaged following Storm \u00c9owyn. While the park was partially reopened earlier this year, some walking and nature trails remain closed due to the damage.
