Rio Ferdinand and Robbie Savage have agreed that Manchester United’s opponents Lyon were unlucky to be reduced to ten men in the Europa League<\/a> quarter-final at Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n Corentin Tolisso scored Lyon’s first goal but was dismissed for a second bookable offence after a challenge on Leny Yoro<\/a> just before stoppage time. Initially it looked to be a clear yellow card, however on replay, both Savage and Ferdinand decided the decision was harsh.<\/p>\n Speaking on TNT Sports, Savage<\/a> began: “Is he in his stride, you can just see him\u2026 I think he is unlucky.” “I think that\u2019s harsh, I think that\u2019s harsh. It is not deliberate,” Ferdinand<\/a> replied.<\/p>\n “No, it is unlucky,” Savage continued. “But again though Rio because it is a yellow card it cannot be checked.<\/p>\n “I said straight away I think he has clipped him. The referee has a first look and that was my first instinct.”<\/p>\n United should have been out of sight at Old Trafford after being 2-0 up at half-time but a six minute moment of madness changed the game.
