Rasmus Hojlund shared an update on social media this weekend amid renewed doubt about his future at Manchester United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Inter enquired<\/a> about Hojlund<\/a> at the start of this summer transfer window<\/a>, but have since signed France under-21 centre-forward Ange-Yoan Bonny. The Manchester Evening News<\/strong> understands United are conscious that no interested club would meet the \u00a338.4million valuation<\/a> he is worth under Premier League<\/a> profitability and sustainability rule calculations.<\/p>\n

That is because the club paid \u00a364million two years ago, with three seasons remaining of his contract. They are instead willing to make a loss in the hope of ensuring a sale this summer, wanting \u00a330million<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hojlund, however, continues to play for the club this pre-season, starting both of their Premier League Summer Series friendlies thus far. He opened the scoring against Bournemouth in Chicago and has, days later, shared a photo on his Instagram story taken during that game.<\/p>\n

The image shows Hojlund holding his left arm in the air while smiling widely after playing a part in the build-up to Amad<\/a> scoring United’s third goal. He kept the ball alive inside the Bournemouth penalty area, pressuring Marco Sensi to flick the ball out into Amad’s path.<\/p>\n

Hojlund also included a beaming smile emoji, giving a hint at the forward’s happiness to be playing a key role for United in pre-season.<\/p>\n

Hojlund spoke afterwards about intending to stay at the club. “I think the most important thing for me is just to keep working hard and stay focused, and then obviously we’ll see what happens,” the striker said.<\/p>\n

“I think my plan is very clear, and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens. I’m still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I’m only 22.<\/p>\n

“Obviously, not every striker is scoring 100 goals at the age of 22 (like Erling Haaland<\/a>). But I’ve learned a lot, I think you can see in my game. I’m starting to develop and become even better in the basics.<\/p>\n

“Now it’s just about for me to sharpen myself, and I’ve done very well in the pre-season so far. Just focusing on continuing that.”<\/p>\n
