{"id":315647,"date":"2025-08-03T22:33:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-03T22:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/315647\/"},"modified":"2025-08-03T22:33:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-03T22:33:10","slug":"oasis-shocked-and-saddened-after-fan-dies-in-fall-at-wembley-concert-oasis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/315647\/","title":{"rendered":"Oasis \u2018shocked and saddened\u2019 after fan dies in fall at Wembley concert | Oasis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Oasis have said they are \u201cshocked and saddened\u201d after a man fell to his death at Wembley Stadium during the band\u2019s Saturday concert.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The man was understood to be sitting in the upper tier of the 90,000-seat stadium \u2013 the highest stands of which are 50 metres above the ground \u2013 as the Gallagher brothers performed as part of their reunion tour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">A spokesperson for the Metropolitan police said officers on duty at Wembley for the Oasis concert responded to reports that a person had been injured at 10.19pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">\u201cA man \u2013 aged in his 40s \u2013 was found with injuries consistent with a fall. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene,\u201d the spokesperson said. \u201cThe stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The Met has asked anyone who has information that could help to confirm what happened to contact the force.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Oasis said in a statement: \u201cWe are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The band dedicated the track Live Forever to \u201call the people who can\u2019t be here tonight\u201d during their Wembley Stadium gig on Sunday night. Liam Gallagher said: \u201cThis one\u2019s for all the people who can\u2019t be here tonight, but who are here if you know what I mean, and aren\u2019t they looking lovely. Live Forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">One fan, who was sitting in a lower tier, said on social media that she had witnessed paramedics trying to revive the man. \u201cI was directly underneath in section 211. At first glance I thought it was a coat falling from the above tier but then I looked and saw the bloke on the concrete. It was horrific to see,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">A Wembley Stadium spokesperson said: \u201cLast night, Wembley Stadium medics, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk\/london\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a> ambulance service and the police attended to a concertgoer who was found with injuries consistent with a fall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">\u201cDespite their efforts, the fan very sadly died. Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The Oasis reunion tour, with Liam and Noel Gallagher at the band\u2019s helm again for the first time in 16 years, includes seven shows at Wembley and five in the Gallaghers\u2019 home town of Manchester.
