Premier League champions Liverpool<\/a> have been urged to sign ex-Arsenal<\/a> transfer target Rodrygo<\/a> from Real Madrid<\/a> as a replacement for Luis Diaz.<\/p>\n Real Madrid are reported to be open to selling the Brazil international this summer and have slapped an \u20ac100m (\u00a386m) price tag<\/a> on the winger.<\/p>\n Arsenal have long been linked to the 24-year-old star<\/a>, although they\u2019ve somewhat cooled their interest to focus on a deal for Eberechi Eze<\/a>.<\/p>\n After Liverpool sold Diaz to Bayern Munich<\/a> for \u00a365.5m earlier this week, Jermaine Pennant has advised Arne Slot\u2019s side to recruit Rodrygo.<\/p>\n \u2018Rodrygo is a fantastic option to replace Diaz\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Arsenal everyday\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s Football Newsletter. <\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your team in the link we\u2019ll send you so we can get football news tailored to you.<\/p>\n \u2018Liverpool are in the business of signing world-class players,\u2019 the former Liverpool winger told Adventure Gamers<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018Real Madrid\u2019s Rodrygo looks a fantastic option to replace [Luis Diaz].<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018He\u2019s not some young, unstudied talent \u2013 he\u2019s an experienced and established player as it is and watching him over the years has been exciting.<\/p>\n \u2018He\u2019s quick, powerful, direct and very tricky to defend against and you could even say he fits a similar profile to Diaz. <\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019d be a like-for-like replacement and a transfer that I could see the fans really getting behind.\u2019<\/p>\n Pennant: Ekitike is a \u2018top signing\u2019 for Liverpool<\/p>\n Pennant has also shared his thoughts on Hugo Ekitike, who joined Liverpool in a deal worth an initial \u00a369m from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.<\/p>\n \t\t Pennant says that Ekitike reminds him of Alexander Isak \u2013 another striker who Liverpool have tried to sign from Newcastle United ahead of the new season \u2013 with a \u00a3110m bid rejected by the Magpies.<\/p>\n \u2018I think Hugo Ekitike is certainly good enough to be Liverpool\u2019s starting number nine this season in the Premier League,\u2019 Pennant added.<\/p>\n \u2018He\u2019s got good feet and has a similar stature and style to that of Alexander Isak, it remains to be seen whether he\u2019ll be able to put the same kind of numbers up, though.<\/p>\n \u2018He\u2019s a good player and with regards to the price tag, it\u2019ll only be the maximum number (\u00a379m) if he hits the heights the club has set for him. <\/p>\n \u2018If he does, then it\u2019s definitely money well spent.
