Oprah Winfrey is set to return to Australia in December for the first time in 15 years<\/a>, for a national speaking tour.<\/p>\n

The US talk show titan, 71, will bring her\u00a0Oprah In Conversation show to four states as she\u00a0marks her first visit Down Under since 2010.<\/p>\n

The presenter will begin her Australian tour at\u00a0Sydney’s ICC Theatre on December 4, before heading to the\u00a0Adelaide<\/a> Entertainment Centre on December 6.<\/p>\n

She will then visit\u00a0Brisbane<\/a>‘s Entertainment Centre on December 8 and end her tour in\u00a0Melbourne<\/a>\u00a0at the Plenary Theatre on December 11.<\/p>\n

Oprah Winfrey is set to return to Australia in December for the first time in 15 years for a four-date national speaking tour<\/p>\n

‘I have always enjoyed sitting down for real, honest, enlightening conversations, and this experience is all about that,’ Oprah<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

‘The energy, warmth, and spirit I feel in Australia and New Zealand have stayed with me, and returning will be an opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and be reinspired together.<\/p>\n

‘I look forward to sharing stories, ideas, and meaningful connection about what’s possible in our lives moving forward.’<\/p>\n

Oprah is also expected to enjoy a private holiday during her time in the country.<\/p>\n

Oprah’s 2010 appearance at the Sydney<\/a>\u00a0Opera House had been dramatic, with thousands of people lining nearby streets and filling the forecourt of the iconic harbourside building.<\/p>\n

Some fans had waited all night for a glimpse of the world’s most famous talk show host.<\/p>\n

It was a cultural moment that saw her film four episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show at the Sydney Opera House, which was temporarily rebranded the ‘Oprah House’.<\/p>\n

That tour brought 300 ecstatic American fans with her and featured headline-grabbing moments, including surprise giveaways, a $250,000 donation to a cancer patient, and Hugh Jackman’s headline-making zip-line mishap during a live taping.<\/p>\n

In another of her surprise splashes of gifts, she gave a cheque worth over $100,000 to a Sydney couple after watching an emotional video in which the husband said he was battling cancer.<\/p>\n

She also gave everyone in the audience a silver necklace with an ‘O’ pendant.<\/p>\n

Oprah rose to fame as an actor in Steven Spielberg’s 1985 hit film The Color Purple.<\/p>\n

She later transitioned to television, launching a long and celebrated career as a talk show host.<\/p>\n
