A man has been charged after a woman was dragged into an alleyway while on her way to work. Mitchell Lee Rogers has been charged with threats to kill, kidnap, assault causing actual bodily harm and committing a criminal offence with intent to commit a sexual offence.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old, of no fixed abode, is accused of attacking a woman and dragging her into Passage Road in Henbury<\/a>, between 6.30am and 7am on Friday, August 1.<\/p>\n Avon and Somerset Police said the woman managed to escape and that she will be offered support.<\/p>\n In a statement, the police force said Rogers is currently in custody pending an appearance before Bristol Magistrates Court <\/a>tomorrow (Monday, August 4).<\/p>\n Detective Sergeant Paul Melton from Avon and Somerset Police<\/a>, said: \u201cWe know people will be concerned about such a worrying incident happening on their doorstep, but this sort of attack by a stranger really is very uncommon.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you have any concerns about your personal safety, you can find information on the Suzy Lamplugh Trust\u2019s website<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Victims and survivors of rape or sexual assault, recent or non-recent, can self-refer to The Bridge, a Sexual Assault Referral Centre, which is available to 24\/7 365 days a year, visit their website<\/a> or call 0117 342 6999.<\/p>\n
