Welp, it looks like Sydney Sweeney<\/a> has been a registered Republican in the state of Florida since June 14, 2024, according to publicly available voting records reviewed by the Cut.<\/p>\n The news comes after the actress recently sparked a week\u2019s worth of discourse for her American Eagle denim campaign<\/a>, which focused on the blonde haired, blue-eyed actress\u2019s \u201cgood jeans\/genes.\u201d Critics have called the ad \u201ca dog whistle\u201d that promotes \u201ceugenics\u201d and have described<\/a> it as \u201cfascist propaganda,\u201d while conservatives have celebrated<\/a>\u00a0the ad as another sign that \u201cwokeness is dead.\u201d Even J.D. Vance<\/a> and the White House communications director Steven Cheung have weighed in to defend Sweeney amid the controversy.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time Sweeney\u2019s alleged political affiliations have made headlines. Back in 2022, there was speculation about her family\u2019s conservatism<\/a> after a slew of red hats<\/a> were spotted at a \u201csurprise hoedown\u201d for her mom\u2019s 60th birthday party.
