{"id":316434,"date":"2025-08-04T06:11:19","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T06:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/316434\/"},"modified":"2025-08-04T06:11:19","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T06:11:19","slug":"flyover-closes-for-repairs-near-bristol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/316434\/","title":{"rendered":"Flyover closes for repairs near Bristol"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">A major flyover has been closed for four weeks for roadworks to take place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">The A38 flyover in South Gloucestershire, near Gypsy Patch Lane, will be shut until 31 August so replacement joints can be installed on the carriageway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Diversions and traffic management will also be in place under the bridge from 11 August until December, while further repair works are carried out, South Gloucestershire Council said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">A council spokesperson warned drivers in the area to expect delays and apologised for any inconvenience caused.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">&#8220;After nearly 50 years [the flyover] now needs significant work to make sure it can remain in use without permanent weight restrictions, lane closures or carriageway closures,&#8221; they added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">Access to businesses and homes will be maintained at all times, but there will be some unavoidable noise in the area, the council said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-9a00e533-0 hxuGS\">&#8220;Activity on site is being limited to week days between 08:00 BST and 17:00 BST with a small amount of occasional evening and overnight working,&#8221; the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A major flyover has been closed for four weeks for roadworks to take place.
