Leeds United have been linked to Leicester City\u2019s Bilal El Khannouss in recent weeks, with the attacking midfielder an option the 49ers are considering.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bilal El Khannouss<\/a> is a target for Leeds United<\/a>, and the Leicester playmaker could replace Brenden Aaronson<\/a>, as was stated earlier this summer. <\/p>\n

The problem is that Crystal Palace are said to be interested in El Khannouss<\/a>. Interest appears to be mounting with Sunderland also said to be keen on El Khannouss<\/a>\u00a0in the transfer window.<\/p>\n

Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen like El Khannouss<\/a>, with the 21-year-old having bags of potential, and continuing to impress in spite of Leicester\u2019s relegation.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also reported that El Khannouss would cost Leeds around \u00a322 million<\/a> due to a release clause in his deal, per some claims. El Khannouss\u2019 wage demands would not be an issue<\/a>, either.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s said that Leeds held a meeting with El Khannouss\u2019 camp<\/a> last Wednesday\u00a0in a bid to thrash out a deal. It is claimed that Leeds have informed El Khannouss\u2019 representatives they will pay a clause closer to \u00a324.5 million in his contract.<\/p>\n

What is certain is that\u00a0El Khannouss is a strong consideration<\/a>,\u00a0although many\u00a0Leeds fans are concerned by El Khannouss links<\/a>\u00a0due to his lack of goal involvements last year. That\u2019s despite the playmaker\u2019s obvious technical ability.<\/p>\n

El Khannouss was part of our dream Leeds XI<\/a>\u00a0earlier in the summer and Ruud\u00a0van Nistelrooy believes El Khannouss has Champions League potential<\/a>, while legendary Man City boss Pep Guardiola is a fan of El Khannouss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

El Khannouss was part of Leicester\u2019s pre-season game<\/a> on Sunday alongside other recently relegated stars for the Foxes, and perhaps another should be on Leeds\u2019 radar. Leeds want a winger and attacking midfielder<\/a>, and Leicester have one of each.<\/p>\n

Daniel Farke detailed the need for attacking players next<\/a>, with Abdul Fatawu perhaps a player who should be on Leeds\u2019 radar. That\u2019s because the 21-year-old is a winger with real pace and end product, while also helping to rebalance Leeds\u2019 attack.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because Willy Gnonto and Largie Ramazani are both better-suited to playing at angles from the left flank, much like Igor Paixao. Paixao may well be a more rounded attacking threat than Gnonto and Ramazani, but Fatawu is a right winger who is left-footed. Leeds simply don\u2019t have a left-footed player out wide.<\/p>\n

Signing Paixao would have meant Gnonto and James fighting for minutes down Leeds\u2019 right, but the addition of Fatawu actually makes more sense, if Leeds can confirm a double swoop with Leicester for El Khannouss.<\/p>\n

A retooling of the attack is underway and essential, and Fatawu\u2019s potential is enormous. He is a similar type of winger outlet to Paixao, as shown from his goal and assist numbers. An ACL injury early last season is why he has seldom featured of late.<\/p>\n

That could make him more affordable and talk surrounding a move elsewhere has since gone quiet now, but\u00a0TBR Football<\/a> have previously reported on interest in his services from Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n

The right-winger is highly-rated, and has been hailed a \u2018great talent<\/a>\u2018 by former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim and also is \u2018very fast<\/a>\u2018. These are the exact types of thing you want to hear about a young winger.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t appear that he has lost any explosivity post-ACL, either.
