Heartbreaking messages to ‘Our Beloved Arslaan’ have been left at a spot where a motorcyclist died in a collision with a van.<\/p>\n

The emergency services were called to the A41 Warwick Road, in Acocks Green, just before 7am on Friday (August 1), where they found a 29-year-old male in a critical condition.<\/p>\n

Sadly, despite the best efforts he died at the scene.<\/p>\n

The victim has not been officially named, but poignant letters, balloons and an array of beautiful flowers have been placed at a wall for ‘Arslaan.’<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, West Midlands Police<\/a> appealed for witnesses to the incident.<\/p>\n

The force said on Friday: “We\u2019re appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a van today.<\/p>\n

“We were called to the A41 Warwick Road in Acocks Green, just before 7am this morning (1 August).<\/p>\n

“The man, aged 29, sadly died at the scene.<\/p>\n

“The motorcyclist\u2019s family are being supported by specially trained officers at this tragic time.<\/p>\n

“The van driver was shaken but not injured.”<\/p>\n

A tribute was also paid to the motorcyclist on Friday evening, whose death earlier today takes the toll of victims in the city in the last 12 months to 23.<\/p>\n

Martin Price, chair of Better Streets for Birmingham<\/a>, held a single white rose in memory of each of the 23 whose lives have been lost since the city council declared a ‘road safety emergency’ last August.<\/p>\n

He told a gathering in Victoria Square<\/a> : “Even today another young life has been lost on our roads. These are avoidable deaths.”<\/p>\n

The police continued: “If you have any information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the scene around that time that could help our investigation call us on 101 quoting log number 605 of 1 August.<\/p>\n
