A children’s nurse is behind bars after a \u00a3200,000 drugs<\/a> and dirty money raid.<\/p>\n Kiran Farooq had been held by police in Glasgow’s Finnieston on December 30 2023. Police<\/a> went on to seize hauls of cocaine, ecstasy and cash from a nearby upmarket flat that she had the keys for.<\/p>\n Farooq today appeared in the dock at the High Court in Glasgow where she pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of both class A drugs<\/a>.<\/p>\n A judge stated she had “shamed” herself and her medical profession by what she had done. She was warned she faces a lengthy jail-term when she is sentenced<\/a> next month.<\/p>\n Farooq had been spotted by officers briefly going into a car, leaving then entering her own vehicle<\/a>.<\/p>\n Prosecutor Mark Mohammed KC told the court: “Police suspected they had observed a drugs transaction<\/a>.”<\/p>\n She was followed<\/a> to a secure car park at the flats in the city’s Lancefield Quay.<\/p>\n Farooq was stopped and got out her motor. She then dropped the keys for a property there. Officers initially seized almost \u00a312,000<\/a> inside a small carrier bag in the car.<\/p>\n Police<\/a>, at first, looked through the letterbox of the flat and spotted an open bag which appeared to contain drugs.<\/p>\n Explaining the search that then occurred, Mr Mohammed said: “Cocaine and MDMA (ecstasy) were recovered along with a quantity of cash and drug dealing paraphernalia<\/a>.”<\/p>\n This included a consignment of cocaine that had a purity of up to 77 per cent. The advocate added: “She has now resigned from that position.”<\/p>\n Lord Mulholland deferred sentencing<\/a> on Farooq for reports.<\/p>\n He told her<\/a>: “You have pled guilty to quite extensive drug trafficking. You shamed yourself and your profession. It is a tragedy for you and for those affected by your drug dealing.
