Benjamin Sesko is reportedly considering several “very important” factors as he takes his time deciding between Manchester United<\/a> and Newcastle United this summer.<\/p>\n

The two Premier League<\/a> clubs have taken their place at the front of the queue for RB Leipzig’s in-demand striker. The Manchester Evening News understands United are pressing towards making this signing<\/a> having looked into a potential deal for Aston Villa and England star Ollie Watkins, too.<\/p>\n

But complicating matters is the presence of Newcastle, who similarly hold a desperate desire to add firepower to their squad before the season begins.<\/p>\n

The Magpies have reportedly taken their interest further than United<\/a> to date with a \u20ac75million (\u00a365.5million) up-front bid plus a further \u20ac5million (\u00a34.3million) in add-ons rejected by Leipzig.<\/p>\n

There’s been no hint as to which of the two clubs Sesko prefers and, according to the latest report from Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, that decision has not actually been reached yet.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old – who has scored 39 goals in two seasons in Germany – is dwelling over five key elements of the transfer before naming Old Trafford<\/a> or St. James’ Park as his preference.<\/p>\n

First, Sesko is said to be taking a broader assessment of the Premier League switch, considering which would be better for his career and life as a whole.<\/p>\n

The striker knows what it means to move away from family having left Slovenia for RB Salzburg, as a 16-year-old, but in this latest move must think about what is best for himself and those closest to him.<\/p>\n

Following on are different footballing aspects of a potential move.<\/p>\n

One is the offer of European football, which United can’t give in the 2025\/26 campaign as they did not do enough to qualify. The last time the club was in the Champions League<\/a> was 2023\/24, and it will be their ambition to return and then stay there.<\/p>\n

Newcastle have qualified for the Champions League in two of the three most recent campaigns.<\/p>\n

Bleeding into this are the projects each club are undertaking to establish themselves high in the ranks of English and European competition – as well as the coaches at either club. Ruben Amorim and Eddie Howe have different mentalities that will require thinking about.<\/p>\n

And, lastly, it’s explained Sesko will consider the money United and Newcastle are willing to offer him.<\/p>\n
