Families struggling with the cost-of-living crisis across Trafford can now access free school uniforms.<\/p>\n

Stretford Community Hub will be hosting a free pop-up uniform exchange between Monday, 11th August and Friday, 15th August (between 1 pm and 3 pm every day).<\/p>\n

The hub, based at Stretford Public Hall, will be working on the project in conjunction with local charities, Bridging the Gap (South Manchester Foodbank) and Little Green Sock, Stretford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Residents can pop in during this week to bring in donations and pick up school uniforms.<\/p>\n

Colouring and activities for children will be available during the pop-up uniform exchange. More information about the scheme is available online by clicking here<\/a><\/p>\n

Stretford Public Hall can accept a small amount of donations in advance of the pop-up uniform exchange. Contributors can drop them in on weekdays between 9.30 am and 4 pm.<\/p>\n

Little Green Sock will also be offering its appointment-only referral school shoe service. Residents who need support with school shoes through this service can email [email\u00a0protected]<\/a> or drop in on any Tuesday from 9.30 am to 1pm and ask for Emma.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Councillor George Devlin<\/p>\n

Coun George Devlin, the council\u2019s executive member for housing and advice, said: \u201cMany of our residents need additional support due to the cost-of-living crisis and increased prices across the board.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOne big expense is school uniforms so I am delighted that this scheme is running at Stretford Community Hub. We are committed to helping those families who are struggling and this is one way we can save families a lot of money.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThank you to all our partners who have worked hard to launch this fabulous scheme.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trafford Centre shoppers can also drop off uniform donations at the Guest Service Lounge on Lower Regent Crescent in the Trafford Centre<\/a>. Uniforms in new or good condition can be donated until 15th August, after which Manchester South Central Foodbank and Bridging the Gap will distribute the donations to children across Greater Manchester.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
