Although the plans are still confidential, a palace insider told #ShuterScoop<\/a> that the performance \u201crequest is real. He\u2019s always adored her \u2014 and this would be a deeply personal farewell.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bond between the legendary singer and Britain\u2019s monarch is not new. Charles once called the Hollywood icon his \u201conly pin-up.\u201d Moreover, she is among the few to receive roses from his royal garden on special occasions. \u201cThere\u2019s genuine affection there,\u201d a former royal aide added.<\/p>\n

King Charles III has a soft spot for the multitalented actress since his Cambridge University\u00a0days. As per Cosmopolitan<\/a>, the monarch once said he has \u201calways been a great admirer of the incredibly versatile American actress and singer Barbra Streisand.\u201d<\/p>\n

The British monarch first met the EGOT winner in 1974 when he was the Prince of Wales. She was filming for \u201cFunny Lady\u201d in Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles at the time. Two decades later, the royal member met the \u201ceffervescent talent\u201d again in 1994 when Streisand performed in Prince\u2019s Trust charity at Wembley Arena in London before striking a decades-long friendship.<\/p>\n

As per the New York Post<\/a>, the singer even wrote about their meeting in her memoir\u00a0\u201cMy Name Is Barbra.\u201d In the memoir, she said that \u201cprince was utterly charming when he came to the studio.\u201d<\/p>\n

Streisand further added that both of them \u201care shy, but somehow we still managed to connect\u2026 because that proved to be the beginning of an unexpected friendship.\u201d Hence, as per the royal source, if the singer performs at King Charles\u2019 funeral, \u201cit won\u2019t just be a tribute \u2014 it will be the most watched, most moving goodbye of her career.\u201d<\/p>\n
