{"id":318614,"date":"2025-08-05T01:54:23","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T01:54:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/318614\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T01:54:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T01:54:23","slug":"volkswagen-festival-to-return-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/318614\/","title":{"rendered":"Volkswagen festival to return this weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aiir-c-news-figure__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/68908bad4fd30.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/>\n                                    VW Fest returns to Harewood House this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aiir-c-news-article__abstract\">\n            VW Festival is returning to Harewood House for the 20th year this weekend.\u00a0\n        <\/p>\n<p>Thousands of visitors are expected for the event, which celebrates all things Volkswagen, from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th August.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Known as one of the UK\u2019s largest events for VW enthusiasts, it combines classic car culture with live entertainment, food, music and activities for all ages.<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature more than 250 vehicles on display, ranging from vintage Beetles and camper vans to modern Transporters and modified Golfs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/68908bae6d8b6.jpg\" style=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>A key highlight of the weekend is the Show &amp; Shine competition, where owners showcase their meticulously maintained or creatively customised VWs in hopes of winning a prize.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the event said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cVW Festival is the show to be at if you love cars, great entertainment and a fantastic atmosphere.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a chance to make new memories, so what\u2019re you waiting for, join us and help make it the greatest show of the year!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Each year the festival also adopts a theme, and this year it\u2019s \u201cStars &amp; Stripes,\u201d with attendees encouraged to dress up or decorate their vehicles in line with the American-inspired concept.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The costume competition takes place on Saturday evening and is open to both adults and children.<\/p>\n<p>The festival site opens to the public from 9am on Saturday and Sunday, with last entry at 4pm on Saturday and 3.30pm on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>For those camping, the site opens from midday on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/68908bc7e9411.jpg\" style=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the day start from \u00a325 for adults and \u00a310 for children aged 6 to 16, while under-6s go free.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Weekend camping tickets are available from \u00a375 per adult and \u00a320 per child. Entry is free for Harewood House members, though advance booking is required.<\/p>\n<p><b>Getting there<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Visitors are advised that the main Harewood House car park will be closed during the event, and all vehicles will be directed to event parking fields nearby.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Event stewards will be on hand to assist with traffic flow.\u00a0Buses from Harrogate and Leeds will be running regularly, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to avoid queues.<\/p>\n<p>Dogs are welcome at the event if kept on a lead, although they are not permitted inside marquees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Accessible facilities, including toilets and designated parking, are available, and guests with specific access needs are encouraged to contact Harewood House before their visit.<\/p>\n<p>Find out more and get your ticket <a href=\"https:\/\/harewood.org\/events\/vw-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>here<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"VW Fest returns to Harewood House this weekend.
